"PATMOS" WAS FORMALLY
INAUGURATED AND BLESSED
August 9 was the Blessing and Inauguration of the Priest's Retirement and Clergy House (PATMOS) of the Archdiocese of Palo. It was named after the place where St. John spent the later years of his life and the place of his special encounter with the Lord. The affair underwent at 3 o'clock in the after noon at the Seminary Compound in Salvacion, Palo, Leyte were the structure was located.
The occassion had the Archbishop of Palo, his Excellency the Most Rev. Jose S. Palma as the presider. The Inauguration was attended by friends and benefactors of the Archdiocese with no less than the Donor herself in the person of Mrs. Teresa Yu-Lim Alagao. Mrs. Alagao was a retired Medical Technologist abroad. Immediately after retirement she decided to put into good used the modest earnings that she accumulated through hard work and honest means. Thus, PATMOS was realized thru her generosity and the initiative of Msgr. Bendic Catilogo (the rector of SJEST).
The Blessing and Inaguguration started with the Cutting of Ribbon by the Main Donor, afterwhich, followed the blessing and the Holy Eucharist. A short program was also prepared after the Mass to entertain the guests. Everybody enjoyed a good dinner to end the afternoon's activity.
The Seminarians of SJEST were directly involved in the activity. The seminarians also extended any means that had made the Blessing and Inauguration a success. PATMOS was the ideal name of the newly cosntructed Priest's Retirement and Clergy House of the Archdiocese of Palo. Every priest who will visit this place will hopefylly encouter the glorious presence of Jesus.
